PORTLAND, Ore. — An officer used a patrol car to strike an armed suspect in northeast Portland late Wednesday night, leading to an investigation into the use of potentially deadly force.
Just before 10 p.m., Portland police responded to the 400 block of Northeast Hassalo Street after receiving several reports of a naked man running around with a gun.
When officers arrived, the man had left the area. Officers conducted an area check and found him near Northeast Grand Avenue and Northeast Multnomah Street.
As officers approached, they said they heard a shot fired and saw the suspect start running southbound on Northeast Grand Avenue with the gun.
