HILLSBORO, Ore. (KPTV) - Three people and three dogs have been displaced after an early morning house fire in Hillsboro on Thursday.
Just after 4 a.m., crews with Hillsboro Fire & Rescue responded to a fire in the 600 block of Northeast Evergreen Road. Officials said smoke alarms alerted residents to flames in their living room, prompting a 911 call and immediate evacuation.
The fire, initially reported in the living room and spreading through front windows, was quickly brought under control. Officials said crews also ventilated the roof to improve conditions for the firefighters inside, who then worked to extinguish hot spots.
All three residents and three dogs were able to safely evacuate the home and no injuries were reported.
