A new cross-border study comparing faith and spirituality in Canada and the United States shows that Americans remain significantly more religious and more open about their beliefs than Canadians, though some generational similarities are emerging.
Released Nov. 6, 2025, by the Angus Reid Institute in partnership with Cardus, the report surveyed more than 5,000 adults in each country to measure how faith shapes public and private life. The findings highlight a persistent religiosity gap between the two countries but also point to shifting patterns among younger people.
