Authorities in New Hampshire are searching for an inmate who escaped Wednesday from a transitional housing unit to avoid having to take a breathalyzer test.
The New Hampshire Department of Corrections said Anfernee Jay King, a minimum-security inmate of the Calumet House Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester, was placed on escape status around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

King was last seen returning to Calumet House form work around 8:11 p.m. When he arrived, an officer approached him, suspecting that he was intoxicated. King fled on foot in an apparent attempt to evade a breathalyzer test and has not returned to the house since.
