There's more controversy swirling around the mayor in Quincy, Massachusetts , after state regulators say Thomas Koch took thousands of dollars in illegal campaign donations, including money from corporations and anonymous donors.

Koch paid $55,000 to settle the allegations against him, a letter from the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance shows . Of that total amount, Koch's campaign paid $15,000 directly to the state, and made two separate $20,000 donations to city nonprofits -- Quincy Asian Resources Inc. and Quincy’s Dragon Boat Museum, the Boston Globe reported citing a campaign filing.

Koch's campaign also agreed to implement internal accounting procedures to more closely review contributions,
