Police arrested a Queens day care operator Wednesday for driving without a license and obscuring her plate in connection with a crash that killed a scooter rider over the summer.

NYPD officials said 43-year-old Celina Crump struck the man while she was driving a 2022 Ford Transit Van around 6:30 a.m. on June 26 in Cambria Heights. She collided with 39-year-old Shaun Lagredelle, who was riding an electric scooter, as she turned left onto Nashville Boulevard from 116th Avenue, according to police.

Lagredelle, who lived several blocks away from the crash site, was ejected from the scooter and severely injured. First responders took him to Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
