SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A man was found guilty of shooting and killing a woman who was evicting him from her home.

On Sept. 7, Makaree Rayson was found dead with multiple gunshots in the 800 block of Wyngate Circle.

Following investigations, Michael Rachal was arrested for second-degree murder.

Rachal had been staying at Rayson’s home and she was trying to evict him. They argued while moving his belongings to the carport, and Rayson’s younger sister heard shots from inside.

The sister saw Rachal running away, saying that Rayson had shot herself.

Five shell casings were found at the scene, and witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots. One of the bullets fatally struck Rayson, and the shot was fired at a distance inconsistent with self-inflicted wounds.
