MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KLTV) - A teacher’s aide with Mount Pleasant ISD has been fired and arrested after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Jaquaven Rogers, 27, was arrested Friday after MPISD contacted police regarding allegations that Rogers had an improper relationship with a student.

According to the MPPD, the district was made aware of the allegations around 8:52 a.m and contacted the police department. Detectives then went to the school and began an investigation that determined there was probable cause to arrest Rogers.

According to the MPPD, Rogers was a Special Education Teacher’s Aide at P.E. Wallace Middle School while the victim was from another MPISD campus.

MPISD has since fired Rogers.
