Thieves broke into the storage facility and looted cash and essential commodities worth over Rs 30 lakh, leaving the premises almost empty, informed sources. The incident has shocked local traders and residents in the area.
What Happened and Where
The theft occurred late last night at a ration godown located under Dhauli Police Station, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. According to reports, a gang of burglars entered the warehouse during the night, allegedly after breaking the locks. They reportedly stole Rs 7.5 lakh in cash and also carried away ration items worth around Rs 30 lakh, including rice, pulses, and sugar.
