HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) — A man was struck and killed Wednesday evening by a Christian County sheriff’s deputy who was responding to a call, according to Kentucky State Police.
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of Highway 41.
Investigators say the deputy was driving a marked cruiser on the way to a service call when he hit a pedestrian in the roadway.
The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Brandon Higgins of Hopkinsville. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deputy was not identified in a news release.
State police are continuing to investigate the incident. No additional information has been released.
