The wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez has rejected a plea deal that would have kept her out of prison, and will gamble with proving her innocence at trial.

Robin Severance-Lopez was in a Lake County courtroom Thursday for a pretrial conference in the case connected to an illegal gambling operation allegedly involving the suspended sheriff. Marcos Lopez is accused of helping to set up and protect the casino in Kissimmee.

State investigators claim Robin Lopez helped her husband receive payments from the casino.

She was arrested in June and posted $400,000 bond, but was then rearrested last month when prosecutors accused her of lying about her finances during a bond hearing.

She’s now being held in jail with no bond.
