A special organ will be dedicated to a special man after a tribute organ concert at 4 p.m. at the Davis Concert Hall on Sunday. Friends and supporters are invited to the “David Stech Memorial Organ Dedication Recital” featuring Stephen Price on the organ.

“This is just a really great way to honor David Stech,” said Jaunelle Celaire, chair of the UAF music department. “I have really great memories of him. He was such a mentor.”

Stech, who died in July 2024, served as a faculty member in the music department at UAF from 1972 until his retirement in 2008, including time as the department chair. He was a pioneer in computer-assisted instruction and analysis of music.
