NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — Police continue to investigate a crash that killed two teenagers and injured another in New Bedford over the weekend.

Massachusetts State Police responded to a crash on Route 140 South around 2 a.m. Saturday and found two people who were thrown from their vehicle.

A 17-year-old boy from West Yarmouth, identified as Gabriel Bertolino Sequeira, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old girl from Dartmouth, identified as Anne Urbanski Santos De Carvalho, was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The driver, an 18-year-old from Dartmouth, was taken to the hospital and treated injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

It's unclear what led up to the crash at this time.
