PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The man who crashed his pickup truck into a Providence home Thursday night has been cited for refusing to submit a chemical test, according to authorities.
Investigators believe 53-year-old Ricahrd Carlino was driving down Avon Street when his truck left the roadway, crashed through a fence and hit the side of a house on Buffalo Court.
Carlino's truck then caught fire and the flames spread to the house.
The two residents who were inside the home at the time of the crash were not injured, but their home sustained significant damage from the crash and subsequent fire.
Carlino, whose driver's license is expired, was brought to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment where he later refused chemical testing, according to police.
