PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Thanksgiving is just three weeks from Thursday, and it’s one of the busiest travel holidays of the year.
With millions of Americans expected to take to the skies, what should you do if you have a flight booked amid the federal government shutdown?
Arizona’s Family turned to a local travel agent for answers. Nancy Melton with Preferred Travel Services says don’t panic now.
“If the airline cancels your flight, you are entitled to a full refund by law,” Melton said. “That would also include the price you paid for seat assignments or checked bags.”
If you cancel your flight yourself, Melton says you will not get the refund. Instead, you’d get a ticket voucher.
