Letter: More options would lower costs for the flying public

To the editor,

Thank you for the Herald's series on possible improvements to air service at Grand Forks International Airport. It is a dilemma that is not easily solved.

I know that when we fly, we check Grand Forks, Bemidji, Fargo and recently Thief River Falls. We like the convenience of Grand Forks, but sometimes the cost or the timing of flights make us fly out of other places.

Fargo has more flights, especially with Allegiant, that fit our schedule better, rather than the two days a week Allegiant goes out of Grand Forks. And if you are going to Denver, the United direct flight can't be beat.

Bemidji has free parking and sometimes cheaper flights with Delta, especially the first leg to Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Thief River Falls recently added connections to Delta and other airlines,
