Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles

The body of a man who was believed to be missing from a house fire was found amongst the rubble.

Crews got a call around 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, for a house and garage fire in Bozrah. Firefighters found both structures engulfed in flames. 

A man believed to be inside was not found initially. On Thursday, State Police said investigators had found a body inside the burned-out home. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will identify the person. 

Neighbors reported hearing explosions during the fire, but crews believe they were hearing tires and other items popping from the extreme heat. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
