HURON – More households are experiencing homelessness in Huron County than ever reported before.

According to Huron County’s latest monthly update on homelessness, which gives a snapshot of homelessness in the county, 156 households were experiencing homelessness in Huron County in October, representing the highest rate for a single month reported by the municipality.

Huron County first began reporting on its rate of homelessness in 2024, and the previous peak was 154 households, which it reported last June.

The county reports the number of households experiencing homelessness each month by referencing its by-name list, where residents can voluntarily be included.
