SOUTH HURON – South Huron council at its Nov. 3 meeting denied a recommendation from its heritage advisory committee to begin the process of deeming a historical home in Exeter as a heritage property.

The recommendation from the committee was an attempt to potentially save the Victorian-era home from demolition after Vaughan-based developers Manorwood Homes bought the property at the southwest corner of Main and Waterloo streets and announced in 2022 its intention to construct a five-storey, 85-unit condominium building on the land.
