Indianapolis Metropolitan Police detectives are investigating a shooting near Shortridge High School .

The shooting was reported at 10:35 a.m. in the 3500 block of North Pennsylvania Street at the Edgewood Terrance Apartments complex, right next to the school. When officers arrived at the scene, they found one person shot, and they're reported to be awake and breathing.

In a social media post online, police said that detectives believe a shooting involving two people is an isolated incident. Parents, students and school staff can expect an increase in police presence while they conduct their investigation.

They do not think that there's any threat to the public or the school.
