BYRON, Ga. — A fire on Wednesday night seriously damaged a home in Byron on Nancy Drive.

Randall Pate with the Crawford County Fire Department said that they got the call around 7:20 p.m. and was on the scene in minutes. Pate said they were able to put the fire out quickly.

He said it consumed the back half of the house, and that the home is a complete loss. Pate said that there was a family inside, but everyone got out safely. No injuries were reported, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Pate said.

The backside of the house showed significant damage from the fire, and parts of the roof were caving in when a 13WMAZ crew was on scene Thursday morning.
