BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Prosecutors have brought felony DUI and reckless driving charges against a man who was arrested after a crash in northwest Bakersfield injured multiple people.

Deonicio Gallegos-Ramirez, 34, pleaded not guilty Tuesday and remains in custody on $100,000 bail. He's due back in court Nov. 14.

A misdemeanor charge alleges he drove on a license suspended for DUI.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Hageman Road and Fruitvale Avenue, police said.

Gallegos-Ramirez was behind the wheel of a Mazda Miata that was traveling south and entered the intersection on a red light, hitting an eastbound Mitsubishi Outlander, according to Bakersfield Police Department.
