GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -Just last week, the future of SNAP benefits for millions of Americans hung in the balance, and now, with Thanksgiving approaching, one woman and her organization are working towards reducing food insecurity and disparities in Gainesville.
TV20’s Hawah Ezell sat down with Erinesha Hamilton, the executive director of SLIICK GARDEN , a non-profit dedicated to cultivating wellness, self-awareness, and food sovereignty in Black communities.
Every Saturday, Hamilton hosts volunteer hours at Porters Qaurter’s Community Farm in Gainesville from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. where she teaches community members how to grow their and cultivate their own food.
