KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The road to the 2025 BlueCross Bowl TSSAA state football championships begins Thursday and Friday night across Tennessee.

Championship weekend is set for Dec. 4 though 6 at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.

The process of determining who will play for a gold ball that weekend begins with this week’s first round games.

WEST (4-5) at SEVIER COUNTY (9-1)

This is certainly not your typical Round 1 matchup.

The Rebels haven’t lost a first-round playoff game since 2018, but they’ll enter as underdogs against defending 5A state champion Sevier County in the playoff opener for both teams.

West has advanced to at least the state semifinals in four of the last six seasons, winning back-to-back state titles in 2022-23.
