MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - As runners set off to complete the Madison Marathon this weekend, city officials are reminding drivers of road closures in place for the race.

All races begin at 7 a.m. Sunday, and runners will start the course on Capitol Square. Those running the full marathon will travel through the UW Arboretum, Vilas Park, around Lake Monona, and then back to Capitol Square.

There will also be a 10k and half marathon ongoing.

Streets will reopen after the last runner passes each street closure location. City of Madison officials estimate the last runner will finish by 1:30 p.m.

Police officers will be stationed throughout the course to help with traffic flow, and drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes or plan for extra time. Officers will only let traffic through whe
