Two years ago, Suzanne Hathon took a class on how to bind books. It was fascinating for her, not just because she loves books, but also because of her job as Sterling Heights Library’s public services librarian.
“I love books, so it’s very fun to like see that part of it and understand it,” she said.
Now, Hathon is sharing her skills with the community at a Nov. 17 book binding class at the library.
The goal is for each participant to come to the class and create a book from start to finish, with all of the supplies provided by the library. The class will cover folding, sewing and gluing using the Coptic Binding method.
