A small fire damaged a University of Iowa residence hall, displacing several students.
The fire broke out in an unoccupied dorm room at Daum Residence Hall around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6. The blaze ignited a response from the Iowa City Fire Department, though it was mostly contained by the building's sprinkler system, according to a release from the city.
Firefighters extinguished the remaining flames.
Most student residents had evacuated the building by the time fire officials responded to the scene, according to a release. No injuries were reported on scene.
