Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly is leaving the team “on great terms” to search for new opportunities, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.

The 64-year-old has coached in Toronto since 2022 and is coming off the first World Series appearance of his long MLB career, which includes 14 years playing in the majors for the Yankees and 12 seasons as a manager for the Dodgers and Marlins between 2011 and 2022.

Heyman and colleague Joel Sherman report that Mattingly is searching for opportunities in baseball as two teams, the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies, are looking to fill their open manager positions. Baseball
