Bajpe: A six-year-old boy returning home from a madrasa was attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Souharda Nagar under the Kandavara Gram Panchayat limits in Bajpe on Thursday morning.
The injured boy has been identified as Ahil, son of Muhammad Azhar, a resident of Souharda Nagar.
According to eyewitnesses, the child was walking back home after attending madrasa classes when several stray dogs suddenly surrounded and bit him on his cheek and hand, leaving him seriously injured.
Hearing the boy’s screams, his mother rushed out and managed to rescue him from the dogs. He was immediately taken to the government hospital in Bajpe for first aid and later shifted to Durga Sanjeevini Manipal Hospital in Kateel for further treatment.
