BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is behind bars after allegedly fleeing police in a vehicle on Wednesday.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign at the intersection of Glen Lily Road and Stubbins Street.

Authorities say they initiated a traffic stop, however, the vehicle failed to stop.

As the officer got closer to the vehicle, the citation states the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle again disregarded a stop sign and continued traveling at a high speed, authorities say.

Police say they disengaged from the pursuit at the intersection of Plain Avenue and Madison Street. At that time, authorities say they lost sight of the vehicle.
