INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Schools is being sued by the State for allegedly "thwarting" federal immigration enforcement on local campuses.

A lawsuit against IPS was filed Thursday in Marion County by Attorney General Todd Rokita. The filing claims that school policy "frustrates" U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's ability to do its job in Indianapolis.

The suit cites three IPS policies that "severely limit" ICE's access to school grounds and details about students. These policies reportedly include restricting who is allowed on school campuses, prohibiting employees from helping ICE, and not sharing student information.
