MINNEAPOLIS — Drivers in the Twin Cities west metro will soon be able to use the E-ZPass lanes on Interstate 94 between Highway 100 and downtown Minneapolis.

The lanes have been closed since July for bridge and ramp repairs in the center lanes of I-394.

The E-ZPass lanes will return to "normal operation through the winter," according to a MnDOT news release.

Motorists should plan for periodic overnight lane closures between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on both I-394 and I-94 through early December, as crews complete the remaining work.

MnDOT officials said while this reopening marks the end of the first phase of this season's bridge maintenance work, the "second season of maintenance is scheduled to begin in February 2026."
