Going into Saturday's highly anticipated matchup between Texas Tech and Brigham Young University, fans of the Red Raiders and Cougars set aside their differences to rally support for a Lubbock family enduring hardship after an October crash involving an accused intoxicated driver.

It was early in the week when Ivan Ortiz created a GoFundMe page, admitting his family needed help making ends meet as his wife, Maddie Ortiz, was hospitalized and was still recovering after she was critically injured in an Oct. 16 crash in southwest Lubbock.

Ivan, who works as a barber for the Texas Tech football team as well as a private studio, said he's been unable to work as he's helped care for his wife and their 3-year-old son as Maddie recovers.
