A four-year-old boy has died days after authorities say a man assaulted him at a home in Caldwell County.
The Hudson Police Department said it was called to a home on Hickman Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 4. They determined that 22-year-old Thomas Lee Bryant, an adult entrusted with babysitting the child, had allegedly injured the boy. Bryant was arrested and charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury, and remains in jail under a $750,000 bond.
Police said the boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment, then to a regional trauma center for advanced care. However, the child succumbed to his injuries early in the morning on Thursday, Nov
