HOLYOKE – A Springfield man wanted on drug and gun charges was arrested Wednesday near the Holyoke–West Springfield line after a chase that injured three Holyoke police officers, authorities said.

Carlos Maldonado, 37, faced two arrest warrants before his run-in with police Wednesday. New charges from the incident haven’t been released yet, Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan said in a statement.

One warrant from Hampden Superior Court includes charges such as trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, assault with a dangerous weapon and improper gun storage. He’s also accused of distributing Class A and B drugs and having a large-capacity firearms feeding device.
