The wait for new music from Death Grips will soon be over.

The experimental hip-hop group revealed that they are working on their first new album in seven years. Known for fusing hip-hop with punk rock, electronic, noise and industrial, Death Grips has not put out an album since 2018’s “Year of the Snitch.”

"The Writing and recording of our next album is underway," Death Grips wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday, Nov. 5. “We’re looking forward to the new Death Grips record.”

Formed in Sacramento, California, Death Grips debuted in 2011 with the band’s self-titled debut EP followed by their mixtape, “Exmilitary.” The project received critical acclaim along with Death Grips’ debut album "The Money Store," which landed on dozens of best albums lists for 2012.
