PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Arizona woman is accused of a paternity fraud scheme with a second person after facing similar allegations with a star of the hit show, “The Bachelor.”

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced that Laura Michelle Owens, 35, was indicted on seven more felony charges of falsifying a pregnancy. Charges include one count of perjury, one count of fraudulent schemes, two counts of taking the identity of another, two counts of forgery and one count of theft by extortion.

Mitchell’s office says that Owens and the victim began dating in 2021, but after the third date, the victim ended the relationship. Owens claimed she was pregnant, and investigators discovered she forged documents to strengthen her claim.
