BOISE, Idaho — Eight teams' state title hopes remain alive in each classification as the Idaho high school football playoffs reach the quarterfinals this weekend.
The 6A bracket features five Southern Idaho Conference squads, including champion Timberline, which hosts Middleton at 7 p.m. Friday at Dona Larsen Park. Rocky Mountain visits Eagle in a rematch of last year's league title game.
Undefeated Bishop Kelly stands solo as the only Treasure Valley team left in the 5A dance. The Knights welcome Skyline in the second round, while top-seeded Hillcrest hosts Lakeland.
Action kicked off Thursday night with a pair of contests at the ICCU Dome in Pocatello. Sugar-Salem and Ririe advanced with wins over Snake River and New Plymouth, respectively.
