DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- Vermilion County high schoolers spent the day around Danville for a different type of education on Wednesday.

The annual Tour of Industries brings these scholars out of the classroom to get a broader view on career opportunities they may never have considered.

At first, the tour was only for manufacturing organizations. But now, they have the option to learn about healthcare, public safety, manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

"The biggest thing is awareness," said Vermilion Advantage Workforce Education Director Jodie Ingram.
