A Long Island man was arrested following a hit-and-run crash in Selden that left a woman dead, officials said Thursday.
Lan Huynh Truong, 44, of Selden, is accused of striking a pedestrian on Boyle Road just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and fleeing the scene, a spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department said in a news release.
The pedestrian, later identified as 37-year-old Victoria Hutson of Selden, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital , where she was pronounced dead.
Hutson was walking on the northbound shoulder of the roadway when she was struck by a 2016 black Toyota Camry allegedly driven by Truong, investigators said.
Truong fled northbound on Boyle Road but was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, Suffolk police said.
