PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Next week, WPRI 12 is holding a Day of Giving to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
And to make sure everyone's generosity goes even further, Washington Trust has committed to matching up to $10,000 in donations on Thursday, Nov. 13.
The goal of the annual fundraiser is to help ensure the food bank's shelves are fully stocked, and in turn, Rhode Island families can put food on the table. The food bank and its network of pantries provide food assistance to more than 84,000 Rhode Islanders every month, and the need is even greater now in this time of rising costs and uncertainty about SNAP benefits.
