The Tupelo Salvation Army has been able to give its residential area for veterans a facelift courtesy of a $24,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation.
Home Depot workers and Salvation Army volunteers installed new flooring, added personal storage, updated the laundry room, and refreshed the coffee bar for veteran residents.
“We are grateful for the $24,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation and the support from our local Team Depot for helping deliver these vital upgrades that make daily life more comfortable for our veterans — so our residents can focus on employment, housing, and health,” a statement from the Salvation Army reads. “This is what community looks like!”
The Salvation Army is a Christian ministry that aims to meet human needs without discrimination.
