The Dumas Demonette varsity volleyball team fell to the Andrews Lady Mustangs 3-2 in the bi-district round Friday, Oct. 31. It marked Dumas’ first playoff appearance since 2021.

The Demonettes entered the game as heavy underdogs going up against the 17th ranked team in 4A, but they showed what kind of team they have been all season, tough and gritty.

“Most people didn’t expect us to make it out of our district, I don’t think Andrews expected us to fight the way we did. Tonight’s stats may not show it, but my freshmen at different times both said ‘Jump on my back’, and found ways to get the job done,” said head coach Ashlei Atteberry.
