Providence City Council leaders are once again attempting to ban the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in city limits, which if approved, would go into effect gradually over several years.
The City Council voted to pass the proposed ordinance once in October, and plans to revisit it again on Nov. 6. Second passage would finalize the measure and have Providence join more than 200 municipalities around the country working to reduce their reliance on the equipment.
