A Belleville fire in a four-unit apartment building was quickly put down in around an hour early Thursday morning by city firefighters.
Firefighters responded to a call that came in before 7 a.m. reporting the flames were seen coming out of the structure east of McDonald’s restaurant.
When firefighters arrived at the building in the 100 block of Donald Street, they were greeted with smoke and fire billowing out a side of the structure.
The “four-unit apartment building was found with heavy flame and smoke visible,” said Deputy Chief Mark Shannon.
“Crews made quick entry, searched and found no victims and quickly knocked the flames down. No injuries are reported and the fire is now under control,” Shannon said around 7:30 a.m.
