NASHVILLE, TN —The Indiana-based country-rock group Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders has earned one of the most prestigious honors in independent music, taking home the award for Group of the Year in the Outlaw Country genre at the Josie Music Awards (JMAs).
The win highlights the group’s dedication to blending traditional country roots with a modern, high-energy outlaw flair. Led by Cody Ikerd on vocals and rhythm guitar, the current lineup also includes Willie Boruff on drums, Tyler Earl on bass guitar, and Corey Flick on harmonica. It features Wes Schrimsher on keys/B3, along with a new lead/steel guitar player, Peter Doyle.
