The elite rapper — who upped the hip-hop game in breathtaking ways when he made his debut on the national scene in the ’90s — made his Bay Area debut with a symphony orchestra on Wednesday (Nov. 5) at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
The result was nothing short of spellbinding.
Nas, who has been doing these orchestral collaborations in a small number of very fortunate cities, combined forces with the Berkeley Symphony and a live band — consisting of a DJ, bassist, keyboardist and drummer — to bring his songs to life in ways that some old-school fans might never imagined.
