BOISE, Idaho — Governor Brad Little announced that the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) has submitted the state’s application for the federal Rural Health Transformation Program, adding Idaho to the list of states seeking up to $1 billion over five years to support healthcare in rural areas.

In August, Governor Little signed an executive order to jumpstart a collaborative task force with members of the executive branch, the legislative branch, Idaho tribes, and stakeholders that worked together to identify specific needs that would be addressed with the new funding.

The State of Idaho is applying for $200 million per year for five years, for a total of $1 billion.
