AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — The Auburn University community has been cleared of any active threats after several alerts were issued via the AU Alert system.

Authorities confirm alerts were sent out for a tornado, an active shooter and a hazardous materials warning.

A message on the university's homepage reads:

"A technical error caused multiple AU Alerts to be sent through the emergency notification system. You may keep receiving these messages. We are working with RAVE to resolve the issue. Please be assured that there is no active threat to campus or the community."

The Department for Campus Safety and Security says more information will follow shortly.
