What the Scottsdale City Council’s plan is regarding the lawsuit against the city by the Taxpayers Against Awful Apartment Zoning Exemptions political action committee should finally come into focus at its Nov. 17 meeting.
It has to, the deadline to do something is Nov. 21.
That deadline was originally Nov. 7, so the council voted unanimously during its Nov. 3 meeting to give Interim City Attorney Luis Santaella authority to file “any appropriate counterclaims, cross claims or third-party claims,” if the deadline wasn’t moved back.
Exactly what “appropriate counterclaims, cross claims or third-party claims” entailed does not reveal the city’s strategy.
However, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Michael Herrod did extend that deadline the next day, giving the council until its Nov. 1
